Summary
We love this grill and especially because it is affordable. We said a few not so nice things while putting it together, but once all set, we have been cooking on it ever since. We love all the features, and the size is perfect for a 2-6 gathering. More hungry mouths to feed might be a bit difficult to keep up with. It cooks evenly and it is quite easy to clean. We would recommend getting the cover for it as well as it will help the overall cooking but that is up to you. All in all, in this price range, highly recommended.

Weighing less than 100 pounds, attached wheels make it easy to move around the yard as needed. The grill kicks out 40,800 BTU’s, while the side burner offers another 12,00 BTUs.

No need to wait for your grill to get hot! Just light your grill with the electric ignition and let the 40,800 BTU grill get to work. The Char-Griller E3001 is made from heavy steel construction with a powder-coated finish for durability. The porcelain coated cast-iron grill grate is built to last. The Grillin’ Pro features 438 square inches in grill cooking space, with an additional 192 square inch warming rack. Side shelf for a convenient workspace and the side burner offers you more versatility. Grill your steak and cook your side dish at the same time.
The design also gives a sense of durability, steadiness and longevity. You probably need two people to assemble it and some patience as it is not the most straight forward of processes. However, once done, we were quite impressed by it. We were able to move it around the testing area with greater ease than most of the other standing grills we tested. The sturdy wheels are heavy and plastic as opposed to the small casters on some other models. We never felt like it would tip over if someone was moving it.
Once you get past the design and on to the actual grilling, you won’t be disappointed, but it’s not going to be the topic of conversation the next day. It delivers a generally acceptable cooking experience, and it has good heat distribution and consistency. We noted some issues with flare-ups on this grill, especially with burgers. It took more than a few minutes experimenting with the burner settings to avoid the flames. Once that was accomplished, things went smoothly.
Of the grills we tested, the Char-Griller E3001 has an above-average cooking area. You’ll be able to fit about nine frozen burger patties across its 438-square-inch grill plate, which is more than enough real estate to cook for a family dinner or small get-together. It also includes a 12,000 Btu side burner, which is very convenient for cooking vegetables or other meal components, so your food can all be ready to serve at the same time.
In our experience, the longer the warranty, the longer you can expect something to work and the manufacturer provides a 5-year warranty. Overall, in this price range, we thought it did very well (our bellies seem to think so too!)
