We tested all four slots and they work great. Two things to note though. Firstly, you’ll have best results if the unit is off when you plug in drives. Turn it on after you’ve plugged an HDD in. Secondly, there is a small switch at the bottom (under the unit) that will slide the molex power connector for the 3.5″ IDE slot left and right to adjust for different drives. Other than this, as long as you are careful and aware that you need to be fully aligned with the pins and connectors in your old drive, this unit will give you so much flexibility, it is unreal. The same advice applies to all enclosure, be mindful of the pins as you plug and unplugged drives!!

The SISUN IDE SATA Docking station directly exchanges data between 2 different type HDDs (SATA and IDE), even if using HDD of different sizes at the same time (3.5″ and 2.5″). You can copy or back up your files conveniently. Having this docking station saves you from having to buy multiple external cases. With a simple one-step process you can change HDD (2.5″ or 3.5″) to HDD (2.5″ or 3.5″) without the need of any screwdrivers. Easy to connect, just slide into the enclosure for the dedicated drive and size and you are good to go. The unit has multiple data output ports, which gives you unprecedented flexibility. That alone in an outright winner.
You can install a maximum 2x 2TB hard drive at the same time or a single 4TB HDD. Taking into consideration that you will be most likely using old drives, that in our opinion is more than enough as only in recent years we have started to use widely higher capacity drives over 4TB. The unit gives you greater flexibility and convenience for data exchange and backup. Ideal to connect older drives and recover data, photos and files before you dispose of the hard drives. Never lose a memory again, considering that it has been specially designed to accommodate old IDE drives.
